The house

140 m² of living space across two floors, with a 110 m² terrace. The living room ceilings are over 5 metres.

Yes. A private hot tub sits on the terrace, looking over Fnjóskadalur and the river Fnjóská, with automatic heating and refill.

Yes. A touchscreen lets you adjust the lighting, temperature and hot tub to make yourself comfortable.

The kitchen is fully equipped for shared meals, with Miele cooking appliances, a dishwasher and wine cooler, plus a Liebherr fridge freezer. Enjoy filter coffee or Nespresso Vertuo in the morning. Cookware, crockery, cutlery and pantry basics including coffee, oil, salt and pepper are provided, alongside appliances for everything from waffles to rice.

Yes. The laundry room is at the back of the platform, outside the main house, with a Miele washer and dryer, an iron and an ironing board.

Yes, high-speed WiFi is available throughout the house. You will receive the network details with your check-in information.

Yes. Netflix is available on both TVs, one in the living room and one in the main bedroom upstairs, and a Bang and Olufsen speaker connects by Bluetooth.

Yes, a Napoleon barbecue on the terrace, with an outdoor dining table and a lounge area beside it.

Sleeping

Up to 7 guests, across four bedrooms.

Four bedrooms: a king bed upstairs, two queen beds and a single bed downstairs, and two single beds in the side room beside the main bedroom upstairs. The house sleeps up to seven.

There is one full bathroom with a shower and toilet, plus a separate WC with its own basin. Both are on the ground floor.

Yes, a cot and a high chair are in the house.

Booking and arrival

Two nights. Longer stays can be arranged; get in touch with your dates.

Check in is from 16:00 and check out is by 11:00.

Yes. Check in is self service with a key box, and the door code is sent to guests directly before arrival.

No, pets are not allowed.

Please use the recycling bins, placemats and coasters provided, and replace the hot tub cover after use. Your arrival information includes the practical details for enjoying the house.

Getting here

About 20 km, in the forest at Lundskógur in Fnjóskadalur.

Yes. The route from Akureyri uses the Vaðlaheiðargöng toll tunnel. Arrange payment at veggjald.is; if you have a rental car, check its toll arrangements too. Turn right toward Lundskógur after the tunnel and follow our map pin.

Use our map pin to find the house. The house and its access road are new, so searching the address in Google Maps or a car GPS may not bring you to the door.

Winter and the northern lights

Yes, the house is open all year, and Lundskógur has a winter snow-clearing service.

Between late August and mid April, on dark nights with clear skies and aurora activity. Sightings are never guaranteed; the Icelandic Met Office publishes an aurora and cloud cover forecast.
